A man has died on board a flight from Dubai to Manchester this morning. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed but the passenger, who has been described as ‘elderly’, is understood to have been ill before boarding the Emirates flight from Dubai International Airport.
The Boeing 777 landed at Manchester Airport at 7.30am this morning and was met by a medical team, but it is believed the man died during the flight. All other passengers disembarked before the body was removed from the plane.
Greater Manchester Police attended the scene shortly after 8am and confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances. Emirates this morning confirmed a passenger died on Flight EK21 from Dubai. A spokesman said: ‘Emirates can confirm that a passenger on board today’s Emirates flight EK 21 from Dubai to Manchester passed away during the flight.
‘Emirates expresses its condolences to the family.’ A spokesman for Manchester Airport said Emirates was handling the situation and the airport had no involvement in the situation currently.
