Iran will launch three satellites into space before March 2018, said the country’s ICT Minister Mahmoud Vaezi.

One of the satellites – “Sharif Sat” or “Dousti” will be launched by March 2017, and two other satellites will be launched during the following year, Vaezi said, IRIB news agency reported December 21.

He also said Iran’s contract with a Russian company on building a remote sensing satellite is at its final stage.

The LC that is needed for the satellite has been finalized and the operational phase of the project will start in two or three weeks, Vaezi said.

“A national telecommunication satellite is also under consideration, for which we are in talks with two or three foreign companies and we will announce further details about it in the future,” he said.
