Muslims on Twitter were freaking out and congratulating Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan on her “conversion to Islam” over the weekend.
Many have also retweeted a statement from the American actress saying: “The Quran opened doors for me to experience spiritually, to find another true meaning. This is who I am.”
The online excitement kicked off after Lindsay wiped clean all her social media accounts, while leaving the Islamic greeting “Alaikum Salam” as her Instagram bio.
Lindsay, who has now moved to Dubai, began to show interest in Islam last year when her Saudi friend gave her a copy of the Quran.
The 30-year-old actress and human rights activist has also been learning Arabic, Turkish and Greek, and doing a lot of charity work for Syrian refugees in Turkey.
Lindsay is yet to respond to the Twitter-induced rumor. But one thing we know for sure, is that she will be appearing on Kuwaiti TV in February, where she will reveal to Kuwaiti TV host Shoaib Rashid the truth behind her alleged embracing of Islam.
