Fighting in Karabakh: Azerbaijani army prevents Armenian diversion

As the press service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan informed on Wednesday, on the seventh of February starting from 16:55 (GMT+4), the units of Armenian armed forces were shelling the positions of the Azerbaijani Army from different directions of the frontline using heavy machine guns, mortars and artillery.

“As a result of immediate actions, the engineering structures and enemy firing points were destroyed.

It is assumed that the shootings of Azerbaijani positions by the Armenian armed units were aimed to distract attention from the attempt to carry out a diversion in other direction of the front in Nagorno-Karabakh, the ministry said.

However, as a result of the vigilance of the Azerbaijani armed units, enemy actions were detected in advance. As a result of retaliatory measures the enemy retreated, suffering losses.

There are no casualties among armed personnel of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, the operational situation along the entire frontline is completely controlled, “- said in the Defense Ministry reported.
