The first round of violations of the Egyptian – Russian truce north of Homs kills and the injures several fighters
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that a fighter of an Islamic movement was killed by shelling by the regime forces targeted areas in the west of Talbisah city, which is located in the northern countryside of Homs, and others injured, thus, this fighter is the first person to be killed since the truce was put in effect at 12 pm on Thursday the 3rd of August 2017.
While the regime forces targeted places in the area of Al-Taybah in the northern countryside of Homs, by more shots of their heavy machine guns, coincided with shelling by several shells on areas in Ghernata village by the regime forces in the same countryside. SOHR published short time ago that the first violations started to violate the Egyptian – Russian truce which was put in effect in the northern countryside of Homs. At noon of Thursday the 3rd of August 2017, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that there were exchange of targeting between the forces of the regime and the factions in the northern countryside of Homs, where the regime forces targeted areas in Al-Farahaniya village and Teir Ma’alah town by a number of artillery shells, coincided with opening fires of their heavy machine guns on the outskirts of Al-Houla area, the regime forces also targeted the outskirts of Teir Ma’alah town by heavy machine guns, amid shelling and firing heavy machine guns targeted the village of Um-Sharshoh which is near Talbisah in the northern countryside of Homs, resulting in material damage, without information about casualties, while the factions targeted areas in the villages of Hosh Tasnin and Jabourin and other places controlled by the regime forces in the northern countryside of Homs by shells and heavy machine guns.
The northern countryside of Homs had witnessed about 10 hours of calm, without documenting any breach, where the Agreement entered into forces at 12:00 pm on Thursday the 3rd of August 2017. Amid fears that the agreement in the northern countryside of Homs might be similar to the Eastern Ghouta agreement, which began on the 22nd of July 2017 and did not withstand the continued and daily breaches of the regime forces which included artillery shelling, missiles shelling, believed to be ground-to-ground, and bombardment by warplanes that left tens of casualties and injured civilians.
In addition to the clashes which are taking place around the Eastern Ghouta and its outskirts between the regime forces and their allied militiamen against the Islamic factions. also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the afternoon of Thursday the 3rd of August 2017, it is expected for a new agreement of “easing the tension and military operations in the northern countryside of Homs” to be applied. This countryside includes the towns of Talbiseh and al-Rastan and the area of al-Houla, as well as other villages and towns in its countryside, with Russian guarantee.
